The Good Sam Continued Service Plan, CSP, is a full-service mechanical breakdown insurance policy, similar to extended warranty coverage. It's designed to protect you from the high cost of unexpected RV repairs or breakdowns.
CSP was designed for the person who already owns an RV or for someone who wants to purchase an RV from a private source, not a dealership. Visit our Good Sam Authorized Dealer page for more information on why you may want to purchase CSP from a Good Sam Authorized Dealer
No. You do not have to be a Good Sam member to get a quote, however, upon purchasing CSP, you must be a Good Sam member. For those who are not already Good Sam members, it is easy and affordable to become a Good Sam member. Learn more about the perks and benefits of Good Sam Club membership.
In the event of a breakdown, take your vehicle to ANY service center in the U.S. or Canada. Call our toll-free number and our RV experts will talk to the service center’s technician on your behalf. They will review the service center’s diagnosis and recommendations, then authorize the repair work. Major repairs may require an inspection to verify the extent of the damage. We pay the service center directly for all covered repairs. You pay the deductible, plus any non-covered items. CSP is a true mechanical breakdown insurance policy, not a warranty. That means it complies with stringent insurance regulations; whereas some service contracts are underwritten by the dealer and are valid only if the dealer remains in business. CSP is backed by A+ insurance underwriter QBE Insurance Europe LTD in conjunction with Lloyds of London. Yes, parts and labor are included for all covered RV repairs. For non-covered repairs, you assume the cost of parts and labor.
No. CSP is designed to protect you from the high costs of sudden and unexpected breakdowns, not the day-to-day servicing of your RV. CSP requires RV owners to service your vehicle according to the manufacturer's requirements to mantain full coverage under the policy.
Yes. You can always add additional fix-its to your vehicle while it's in the shop, and pay for those non covered extras on your own.
No, CSP takes over after your vehicle is at a service center. It is not an emergency roadside assistance program. For roadside assistance for your RV, we highly recommend the Good Sam RV Emergency Road Service.
You have the option to follow the same steps (listed above) [anchor up to "How does CSP work" question] without receiving prior authorization from CSP. If you do this, be sure to call us within five business days from the date of your repairs, and we will reimburse you accordingly. (Please note: If possible, we recommend waiting until our office reopens so you can obtain CSP authorization first. That way, we can pay the service center directly for covered repairs, and you won't have to dip into your travel funds while on the road.)
You pay one deductible per occurrence, not per item. So even if there are several repairs that need to be made, you still only pay one deductible per occurrence.
For Motorhomes you can select a deductible of $100, $250, $500; for Fifth Wheels and Travel Trailers: $100, $200, $300; and for Cars, SUVs and Trucks: $100, $250, $500.

No, an inspection is not required to activate coverage from CSP. Your coverage becomes active on your contract effective date. We do not cover mechanical breakdowns that occur prior to the contract effective date.
CSP does not cover pre-existing conditions that are present prior to purchasing coverage whether known or unknown.
CSP has NO yearly mileage restriction, so you can drive as far as you like during the term of your Policy – up to the lifetime mileage cap of 150,000 total vehicle miles for motorhomes or 115,000 for trucks, vans, or SUVs . For more information on coverage and qualifying for coverage, click here.
Based on past claims, more than 3 out of 10 Motorhomes need repairs in their second year; 8 out of 10 need repairs in their fifth year, and virtually ALL of them need repairs in their eighth year. Additionally, about 80% of CSP policyholders file a claim for covered repairs in their first year. For more incident rates, click here.
CSP offers great protection after a manufacturer's warranty runs out. But there are huge advantages to buying an insurance policy before your factory warranty expires. New RVs typically come with a 3-year Power Train warranty and a one-year warranty on appliances. Different coverage for various time periods causes confusion, leading RV owners to think they are covered when in fact they may only be partially covered. Yes. Your CSP contract is fully transferable. If you're selling your vehicle privately, you can transfer CSP to the new owner at no cost. Or if you are buying a new rig, you can transfer your contract to the new vehicle.
Yes. If a covered part breaks down and can be repaired, but you prefer to get a new one instead, you can apply the cost of the repair toward the price of the new unit. For example, your refrigerator breaks down. It can be repaired for $1000, but you would like a new refrigerator instead. You can opt to apply the $1000 repair cost toward the price of the new unit.
You are covered all throughout the U.S. and Canada.
CSP is backed and insured by A-rated underwriter, QBE Insurance Europe LTD in conjunction with Lloyds of London. In addition, CSP was designed by and is fully endorsed by the Good Sam Club, the world's largest and most trusted RV organization. CSP is also endorsed by Camping World, Coast-to-Coast Resorts, Woodall’s (the publisher of Trailer Life and MotorHome magazines), and by CSP owners.
Yes. If you cancel coverage within the first 30 days, you get back 100% of your paid premium, less any claims paid. If you cancel after 30 days, you get a pro-rata refund for all the months that are left, less a $50 Cancellation Fee. We will waive the Cancellation Fee if you use your refund to buy a new CSP policy for a new rig.
